Govt slashes train fares

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways on Thursday announced to reduce fares for all classes of passenger trains across the country with effect from August 3.
According to the notification, Rs 100 to 150 have been reduced for AC class ticket while Rs 50 cut for economy class.
The aim of reducing rail fares is to making train travel more affordable and accessible for the public, the PR department said in a notification.
“The decision to reduce fares is part of our ongoing efforts to make train travel more accessible and affordable for everyone. We hope this initiative will not only benefit our passengers but also boost the overall usage of our rail services,” it added.
