Ousted PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat to join PPP?

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday night issued a notification, ‘suspending’ Sher Afzal Marwat’s membership.

PTI, in a notification, endorsed by PTI Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi, announced to suspend Sher Afzal Marwat’s membership, which was later denied by the PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, terming the notification “fake”.

“The committee has come to the conclusion Sher Afzal Marwat has no regards for the rules and discipline of the party and he considers himself above the party regulations, [which] consequentially badly affected the image of the party and party narrative.

Taking the opportunity, MNA Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman has extended an invitation to former PTI National Assembly member Sher Afzal Khan Marwat to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

In a message to Marwat on Saturday, Jameel-uz-Zaman stated that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is committed to transforming Pakistan into a modern nation under his leadership.

“We invite you to join the PPP so that we can serve this nation together,” Jameel-uz-Zaman said.

Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman is expected to arrive in Islamabad soon to meet with Sher Afzal Marwat and formally invite him to join the PPP.

It is pertinent to mention here that PTI leader Marwat on May 11 received a show-cause notice for the violation of the party’s code of conduct and policy.

The notice was issued by PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan and asked Marwat to explain his statements within three days, which have been deemed damaging to the party’s reputation.
