Bus terminals to be relocated in Karachi

The Sindh Government on Tuesday decided to move bus terminals in Karachi out of city areas, GTV reported.
According to report, the implementation on the decision is likely to be done before August 14 in order to reduce traffic congestion on the roads.
It was decided that a free shuttle will assist passengers in reaching their new terminal.
The decision was announced by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon after a meeting. He directed that all old bus terminals be relocated to new sites.
The minister also stated that a police checkpoint will be established at the new Karachi bus terminal to ensure security.
The shuttle service will operate from Cantt Stations, Sagheer Shaheed Road, MA Jinnah Road, and Al-Karam Square.
“Steps was taken in way that it does not harm transporters, while passengers also get relief,” Memon stated. “Citizens are facing problems due to the heavy vehicles, while pressure on the roads is also increasing,” he said.
