Did Pakistan allow Modi’s plane to use its airspace?

24 August, 2024 19:14

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft once again reportedly used Pakistan’s airspace while returning from Poland to India, according to the aviation sources.

Modi’s plane entered Pakistani airspace near Chitral and passed over Lahore before exiting towards Amritsar.

The flight reportedly remained in Pakistani airspace for approximately 45 minutes.

It merits mentioning here that Narendra Modi’s special VVIP flight also flew over Pakistani airspace in 2021 while traveling to Italy for the G20 Summit.

The aircraft had used Pakistani airspace after getting formal permission from Islamabad.

In February 2019, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian traffic following a dogfight in the skies over Kashmir that brought the two nuclear-armed South Asian countries to the brink of war.
