Pakistani shines in int’l Quran recitation contest

Muhammad Bashar,10, from Pakistan’s Swat has made the country proud in the recently concluded international Quran recitation competition.
Bashar secured fourth place in the contest held in Algeria. The achievement highlighted the strong cultural and spiritual ties between both countries.
The Quran reciting contest was organised by a private Algerian media outlet Echorouk. The contest featured participants from 15 countries and took place from August 18 to 31.
Securing the fourth position in the prestigious competition, Bashar has earned a prize of $1,500.
In addition to this event, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of Algeria organises the international contest each year under the patronage of the President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
