Imran Khan threatens NAB chief with legal action

Incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan threatened to take legal action against National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman and investigation officer (IO) Mohsin Haroon.
Khan, who is currently in judicial remand along with his wife Bushra Bibi, accused NAB of fabricating cases against them.
The new Toshakhana reference, filed against the detained couple, pertains to a case related to a jewelry set gifted to Bushra Bibi, former first lady, by the Saudi crown prince during Khan’s tenure as prime minister.
“My spouse is facing imprisonment due to cases concocted by you,” said Imran Khan during hearing by pointing out at NAB IO.
Khan warned the NAB officials that he would not spare them when he is released from jail, stating, “I will take you both to court over fabricated cases.”
This is not the first time Khan has hurled threats at public officials, with the most prominent case being against Judge Zeba Chaudhry.
The NAB prosecution team sought an adjournment of the hearing, citing the absence of prosecutor Umar Majeed and the need to review the Supreme Court’s verdict on NAB amendments.
Subsequently, the accountability court adjourned the hearing till September 9.
