Dr Zakir Naik apologises for PIA remarks

Dr Zakir Naik on Friday apologised for his recent comments regarding Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
The cleric revealed that Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori had asked him to forget the incident, which he already “failed to recall.”
“The governor reminded me of the incident again. I knew there was a lot of tension on social media about this, then I realised what I said was right or not?”
“If my words have caused discomfort to my Pakistani brothers, I sincerely apologise,” Naik said.
Earlier, Dr. Zakir Naik, has publicly expressed his disappointment with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) CEO for charging him for excess luggage during his visit to Pakistan as a state guest.
In his Karachi series of lectures, Naik revealed that the PIA CEO had offered him assistance during his journey, but things took a turn when the issue of excess luggage arose.
Naik disclosed that he was carrying 600kg of extra luggage, and the PIA CEO offered a 50% discount on the excess luggage fee.
“I was carrying 600kg extra luggage during my Pakistan visit. PIA CEO offered me 50pc discount which I turned down,” he said.
The religious scholar Naik declined the PIA offer, saying that as a state guest, he expected the excess luggage to be allowed free of cost.
“I told him if you have to allow the excess luggage, then allow it free of cost, as I won’t pay any amount for extra luggage,” Naik recounted.
