Outgoing CJP Qazi Faez Isa denies farewell dinner

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa had declined a farewell dinner at public expense.
Citing concerns over the use of government funds, Justice Isa refused to partake in the event, which would have cost approximately Rs. 2 million.
The Supreme Court’s Registrar Office had sent a formal letter as per tradition, requesting arrangements for a farewell dinner for retiring judges and the Chief Justice.
However, Justice Isa, in his response, expressed that such an event was unnecessary, particularly as it involved spending public money.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Full Court Reference are underway. An invitation letter for the reference, scheduled for October 25 at 10:30 AM, has been sent to the Attorney General. The Assistant Registrar’s letter clarified that although a farewell dinner is customary, Justice Isa has opted out of it.
