Outgoing CJP Isa addresses farewell full-court reference held in his honour at SC

A full court reference is being held to honour the outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, who is retiring today.

The top judge’s wife Sarina Isa and other family members are attending the farewell session.

The farewell reference was attended by Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Musrat Hilali, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan and Justice Aqeel Abbasi.

Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Athar Manullah and Justice Shehzad Ahmed Malik did not attend the reference while Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is abroad to perform Umrah.

CJP-designate Chief Justice Yahya Afridi while speaking on the occasion said that at the moment he has mixed feelings. On one hand, the heart is sad on the retirement of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa, on the other hand, there is happiness that Qazi Faiz Isa is retiring with good health.

The oath-taking ceremony of new CJP Justice Yahya Afridi will be held tomorrow. President Asif Ali Zardari will administer the oath to the new Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.
