Imaan Mazari, her husband arrested in Islamabad
Advocate and human rights activist Imaan Mazari was arrested along with her husband from Islamabad on Monday.
According to police, the couple is accused of assaulting a security official at a security checkpoint in Islamabad a few days ago.
The attempt led to an altercation between Mazari’s husband and police officers.
Imaan’s mother Shireen Mazari shared a post on her X handle, stating, “Imaan Mazari has been arrested this morning. State fascism in full swing.”
Previously, a viral video showed prominent lawyer Imaan Zainab Mazari and her husband attempting to remove the barriers on a road in Islamabad.
