Lahore among most of the districts of Punjab are expected to receive rain between November 14 to 16, which is likely to reduce smog.
According to PDMA spokesperson, the meteorological department has predicted rains in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mianwali, Khushab, and Sargodha, while on November 15, Bhakkar, Layyah and Dera Ghazi Khan is also likely to experience thundershowers
PDMA DG Irfan Ali Kathia said that there are chances of reduction in smog due to possible rains. He asked masses to use masks to avoid smog and do not go out unnecessarily. Citizens should avoid unnecessary travel in inclement weather.
According to DG, there are chances of increase in cold and fog due to rains. Motorists should use fog lights while traveling.
Motorists have been asked to call PDMA helpline 1129 during emergency.
