At least 25 martyred in gun attack on passenger vehicles in Kurram
At least 25 people, including a woman were martyred after unknown attackers opened fire on passenger vehicles moving from Peshawar to Parachinar.
According to police, the convoy travelling to Peshawar from Parachinar was targeted that left 25 martyred and multiple injured including women.
For the last few months, the district is marred with clashes between various tribes and parties, which have claimed dozens of lives.
The violence causes frequent closure of main and link roads as well as border with Afghanistan that caused troubles for the local residents.
According to local elders, the frequent closure of roads would lead to humanitarian crises due to shortage of medicines, edibles, petrol and diesel reserves in Kurram.
The tribal elders mostly from the Bangash and Turi tribes have voiced concern that the continuous closure of roads has caused food and fuel supplies shortage.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have expressed their grief over the incident.
They have directed the authorities concerned for the provision of best medical facilities to the victims of the incident.
