21 November, 2024 16:25

The Anti-Terrorism Court approved the 5-day physical remand of PTI founder Imran Khan in the September 28 case.

The Anti-Terrorism Court judge heard the case against founder PTI in Adiala Jail for inciting protests in Rawalpindi on September 28, during which Imran Khan’s lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar and the government prosecutor gave arguments.

During the hearing, Special Public Prosecutor Zaheer Shah requested 15-day physical remand of PTI founder and said that despite the imposition of Article 144 on the call of Imran Khan, the protesters attacked the government property. They protested on September 28 and the plan was made in Adiala Jail and the call was made from there, he added.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar said that PTI founder has been in solitary confinement in Adiala Jail for one and a half years, how can he plan such a big plan while in jail? The case is political vendetta and is based on the above text assumptions.

Later, the court rejected the prosecutor’s request for 15 days remand and granted Imran Khan’s 5 days physical remand.

The Anti-Terrorism Court ordered the PTI founder to be produced again on November 26 and directed that Imran Khan be interrogated inside the jail.

It should be noted that the PTI founder has a case of inciting a protest in Rawalpindi on September 28, in which he was arrested yesterday after getting bail from Toshakhana 2.
