All public and private educational institutions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will remain closed on Tuesday, as announced by the respective district administrations.
The decision to close the schools and colleges was made in light of the prevailing law and order situation in the region.
Authorities in both cities cited security concerns as the primary reason for the closures.
Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur led convoy of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is advancing towards Islamabad.
About 6,000 police personnel have been deployed at various entry points of the capital city to prevent PTI protestors from entering the ICT.
Heavy enforcement has been made at Chungi 26 from police, where they have stockpiled stones and prepared tear gas and rubber bullets for potential crowd control.
Rangers are also on alert at this location.
On Sunday, the PTI convoy was reported to be at Haropul on the motorway by 8 AM.
Irhan Saleem, a district president of PTI, mentioned that the convoy faced significant obstacles along the route but expressed optimism about entering Islamabad by noon if conditions allow.
Moreover, police have arrested over 139 PTI workers in Islamabad, with additional arrests reported across Rawalpindi.
