UAE issues new conditions for work visas for Pakistanis

The Bureau of Immigration in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued new conditions for work visas sought by Pakistanis.
According to Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA) Adnan Paracha, applicants seeking UAE work visas will now require a police character certificate.
He said that new requirement follows reports of Pakistani nationals engaging in begging and other unlawful activities in the Gulf.
Moreover, the UAE also expanded its list of cities subject to a visit visa ban from 24 to 30 Pakistani cities.
POEPA vice chairman further highlighted the ongoing difficulty in obtaining work visas for the UAE, a situation that has prevented over 100,000 Pakistanis from securing employment there in the past year.
