Winter knocks door in Karachi; mercury drops to 16.5C at night
Temperature in Karachi is expected to drop today (Friday), the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in its forecast.
According to the Met office, the minimum temperature in Karachi is expected to fall between 13°C and 15°C tonight.
Clear skies and cooler nights are forecast for the next 24 hours, it said.
The city recorded a low of 16.5°C in the last 24 hours, with a humidity level of 76%. Winds from the northeast are blowing at a speed of 6km/h, adding a slight chill to the air.
The drop in temperature marks the arrival of the long-awaited winter season in the port city.
The cooler temperatures are also in line with Met Office’s forecast earlier this week, which said that a drop in temperature in the metropolis was expected soon.
It also said that the weather will remain mostly dry during the daytime.
