Section 144 imposed in Karachi’s Central district
The district administration has imposed section 144 in Karachi’s Central District for two days, effective from Monday, in an effort to maintain law and order.
The decision was made following a request from the Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police Karachi, with a notification issued by the Karachi Commissioner.
The notification cited potential threats from disruptive elements and concerns that the law and order situation could deteriorate in the district.
As a result, the restrictions include a ban on pillion riding and gatherings of more than four people. Additionally, no rallies or demonstrations will be allowed during this period.
Law enforcement authorities have been instructed to take action against individuals violating these restrictions. Station House Officers (SHOs) have been granted the authority to enforce the order effectively.
