Shireen Mazari among 9 indicted in GHQ attack case

Former federal minister Shireen Mazari and eight others have been indicted in the May 9 GHQ attack case.

Apart from this, PTI’s senior leader and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi. However, the process of indicting him was delayed.

Today, 14 cases were heard at Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court related to May 9 tragedy. Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the cases in Adiala Jail.

During the proceedings, the accused appeared in all the cases and after that the court adjourned the hearing of 13 cases of May 9 till January 6.

Apart from this, another case related to the GHQ attack was heard and former federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, former federal human rights minister Shireen Mazari, former Punjab law minister Raja Basharat and other accused appeared before the court.

Qureshi was brought to Adiala Jail in connection with the hearing of the case and PTI founder Imran Khan was also presented in the courtroom.

On the continuous absence of 23 accused, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the prosecution filed an application for cancellation of their bail.

During the hearing, the court indicted Shireen Mazari, Raja Rashid Khafeez, Khadim Hussain, Zakirullah, Azimullah Khan, Major Tahir Sadiq, Maher Muhammad Javed, Chaudhry Asif.

The court issued notices to all the accused and filed the case. Further hearing adjourned till December 19.
