Bangladesh withdraws additional security clearance for Pakistanis
Bangladesh on Friday announced to remove the condition of 100 percent physical inspection of goods coming from Pakistan.
According to foreign media reports, the special security desk set up at Dhaka airport to check Pakistani passengers and the condition of additional clearance for Pakistani visa applicants has been removed.
Reports said that the Bangladeshi government has also announced to remove the condition of 100 percent physical inspection of goods coming from Pakistan.
The move comes a day after a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus in Cairo on the sidelines of the D-8 summit.
During the meeting, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the recent positive developments in bilateral relations, while Shahbaz Sharif also thanked Muhammad Yunus for the facilities.
Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to resolve the issues of 1971 to help Dhaka advance its relations with Islamabad.
Shahbaz Sharif said that bangladesh, Pakistan and India had settled the issues in the 1974 tripartite agreement but if there are other unresolved issues, he would be happy to consider them.
Younus said it would be good for future generations to resolve issues once and for all.
