Govt declares emergency in Kurram

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has declared a relief emergency in Kurram district due to the ongoing law and order situation.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, where the security situation and overall circumstances in Kurram were thoroughly discussed.
Official sources confirmed that the cabinet approved the imposition of the relief emergency for the district, and relief payments for those killed and injured in the region have already been processed.
In addition to addressing the immediate situation in Kurram, the provincial cabinet also approved measures aimed at combating money laundering and financial terrorism.
Another significant decision was the endorsement of the creation of a National Commission for Minority Rights to ensure the protection of minority communities’ rights.
Other key decisions made during the cabinet meeting included the approval for the establishment of kidney and liver transplant centers in the province, as well as the creation of youth centers in Karak.
The cabinet also agreed to provide grants for provincial universities and authorized the appointment of members to the Academic Search Committee. Additionally, the establishment of a Girls Cadet College in Dera Ismail Khan was also approved.
