Sambar deer reaches Pakistan from India in search of food
A hungry sambar deer crossed from India into Pakistan in search of food, entering a residential area near the Narang Mandi border. Local residents captured the deer and alerted wildlife authorities.
The Assistant Director of Wildlife in Sheikhupura, Junaid Alam, confirmed that a rescue team was quickly dispatched to handle the situation.
This incident follows a similar occurrence the previous day when a nilgai crossed into Pakistan near Gundasinghwala in Kasur. The animal was found severely injured by wild dogs and was successfully rescued and transported to Changa Manga for treatment.
In another operation, Punjab Wildlife officials intercepted a passenger bus traveling from Sindh to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Taunsa Sharif, recovering 10 crates of live quails. Legal action has been initiated against those involved.
