Eidul-Fitr 2025, Ramazan expected dates in Pakistan

04 January, 2025 00:09

With the Ramazan approaches in 2025, Muslims across the world are preparing for the holy month, which is likely to begin on the evening of either February 28 or March 1.

However, the exact start date will be determined by the sighting of the crescent moon, a deeply rooted tradition in Islam, which marks the beginning of this sacred month.

Ramazan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It is a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, fasting, and acts of charity.

During this period, healthy adult Muslims are required to abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until sunset.

The fast serves as a means of self-discipline, purification, and strengthening the connection to Allah while fostering empathy for those in need.

Eid ul-Fitr is the festival, which marks the end of Ramazan. It is expected to fall on either March 30 or March 31, depending again on the sighting of the Shawwal moon.

This happy occasion is celebrated with communal prayers, festive meals, and the giving of alms that highlight gratitude, unity, and generosity within the Muslim community.
