Schools to remain closed on Tuesday in Sindh

Ramadan School timing 2025 announced
All public educational institutions in Sindh will be closed on January 28 to observe Shab-e-Miraj, the Night of Ascension, as announced in an official statement on Friday.
The holiday is observed by Muslims to commemorate the Isra and Mairaj, the miraculous journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who ascended to meet Allah Almighty.
This event, observed on the 27th of Rajab in the Islamic lunar calendar, marks the Prophet’s journey across the seven skies on the divine animal ‘al-Buraq,’ culminating in his nearness to the Throne of Allah.
It was during this night that the command for Muslims to perform the five daily prayers (Salat) was given.
To honor Shab-e-Miraj, Muslims gather in mosques after Isha prayers to offer special prayers until Fajr.
Additionally, Mahafil-e-Naat are organized, and streets, homes, and mosques are decorated with lights, pennants, and buntings. Many people also visit the graves of their deceased loved ones to pray for their souls.
