28 January, 2025 23:42

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has issued an updated travel advisory, warning its citizens against travelling to several regions in Pakistan due to ongoing safety concerns

The FCDO citing the heightened risks in the border regions has advised British citizens against traveling to the areas lying within 10 miles of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The British travellers, additionally, have also been advised to avoid travelling to parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Bannu, Bajaur, Chārsadda, Buner, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Lower Dir, Mohmand, Orakzai, Peshawar, Swat, North Waziristan, Tank, Upper South Waziristan, and Lower South Waziristan.

Britons are also advised not to take the Karakoram Highway between Mansehra and Chilas and the N45 Highway from Mardan to Chitral, including Kalash Valley.

The UK foreign affairs department has also advised it’s citizens against travel to Balochistan province, except for its southern coast.

However, the advisory has permitted only essential travel to the southern coast, specifically the areas lying south of the N10 Motorway and a section of the N25 that leads to the Balochistan-Sindh border, including Gwadar.
