The Chinese investment delegation met with Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah and other stakeholders to discuss the establishment of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations in Pakistan.

Talking to the media, Nasir Shah said that the Chinese company will set up 3,000 EV charging stations in Pakistan. These stations will be established in cities and highways and the Sindh government will fully support this.

He added that the cost of each EV station would be Rs8 million, while a deposit of Rs1 million would be allowed to set up the station. The project will promote green energy and create new employment opportunities, employing around one million people.

Chinese company ADM Group also plans to set up an EV manufacturing plant in Pakistan and has signed an agreement with the federal government to set up 3,000 charging stations.

The Sindh government is interested in the project and if the company sets up its plant in the province, the government will consider buying more than 20 per cent of the vehicles.
