Pakistan’s viral Chaiwala Arshad Khan opens new Café in London
Arshad Khan, the entrepreneur known as the “chai wala” after a viral photo of him serving tea in Pakistan, has expanded his café business with the opening of a new branch of Café Chaiwala Arshad Khan in South London.
The new café, located in Tooting, has been backed by Karachi-born brothers Asif and Yousuf Khaliq, who have invested over £250,000 into the project.
The Khaliq brothers, who run several businesses in the area, including food outlets and snooker clubs, expressed their commitment to promoting Pakistani culture and heritage through this venture.
“We have invested in this Pakistani chai brand not just for profit but to promote Pakistani culture,” they said, adding that the café aligns with their vision of offering an authentic chai experience.
Arshad Khan first rose to fame in 2016 when a photo of him working at a roadside tea stall went viral.
His popularity led to modeling opportunities and eventually the launch of his own tea brand, which has now evolved into a successful business.
The new café follows the success of the original Café Chaiwala in West London, catering to the area’s growing demand for authentic chai and street food.
The café’s location in Tooting, an area with a large Asian community, reflects the growing appeal of Pakistani food and culture in the UK. Khan’s journey from a street vendor to a business mogul continues to inspire many.
