Sindh schools to remain closed on Feb 14

The Sindh government has declared a public holiday for all public and private schools across the province on the 14th of Shaban (Feb 14, 2025), in observance of Shab-e-Barat.
A notification issued by the School Education and Literacy Department confirmed that all educational institutions under its control will remain closed on this date.
This decision follows the recommendations of the sub-committee of Sindh’s steering committee on education. Shab-e-Barat, which falls on the night between the 14th and 15th of Shaban, holds significant religious meaning for Muslims.
It is a time for prayers, seeking forgiveness from Allah, and visiting the graves of loved ones. The occasion is marked with special religious gatherings and prayers across the country.
The closure of schools allows students and staff to observe this important religious event. Schools and institutions are expected to resume normal activities following the holiday.
