Lahore DC rejects PTI’s request for rally at Minar-e-Pakistan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) could not get permission to hold a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on February 8.
The deputy commissioner Lahore has rejected PTI’s request for a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan.
According to sources, a meeting of the District Intelligence Committee was held in connection with the PTI rally.
Sources said that there is a cricket match and international speaker conference on February 8. In addition, the horse and cattle show is also starting in Lahore, thousands of security personnel are being deployed in this regard.
Talking to the media outside the Lahore High Court, PTI Chief Organizer Aliya Hamza said that it is our legal and constitutional right to hold a public meeting. Our legal team has been present in the DC office since 4 pm.
It may be recalled that the PTI has announced to observe Black Day across the country on February 8 against the alleged rigging in the general elections.
In this regard, the PTI has also announced a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan, for which a request has been made to the administration.
