Holiday announced on February 17

Jamshoro’s district administration has announced a local holiday on Monday, February 17, 2025, in honor of the 773rd Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

The annual three-day event, held in Sehwan Sharif, attracts thousands of devotees from across Pakistan. The Urs will feature cultural and spiritual activities, including a literary conference, traditional Sindhi wrestling (Malakhro), and the vibrant Dhamal dance.

To accommodate the influx of visitors, the provincial government has set up support centers at the shrine, ensuring necessary facilities for attendees.

The Urs, observed from the 18th to 20th of Shaban each year, holds deep religious and cultural significance, drawing devotees from Sindh, Punjab, and other regions.

Security arrangements have been reinforced to provide a safe environment for participants and residents, allowing them to celebrate the occasion with peace of mind.
