Shab-e-Barat being observed tonight with religious fervor

Muslims will observe the Shab-e-Barat, the night of forgiveness, tonight with religious fervor and devotion.

On the occasion, mahfils will be organized at mosques across the country and prayers will be offered throughout the night.

Tonight, Ulema will narrate the grace of Shab-e-Barat, while people also offer Fateha at the grave of their loved ones.

The month of Sha’ban al-Mu’azzam is full of blessings, but its 15th night, known as Shab-e-Barat, is of special significance. “Shab” means night and “Barat” means redemption. This night is a special occasion for the mercy and forgiveness of Allah Almighty.

According to hadiths, on that night Allah forgives the sinners more than the number of goats of the Banu Kalb tribe. On that night, a list of all the affairs of the universe such as rise and fall, success and failure, and expansion and hardship in sustenance is compiled, and their works are distributed to the angels.

Special prayers will continue throughout the night, especially after maghrib prayers.

Muslims will pray to Allah for repentance of sins, forgiveness, faith, openness of sustenance, and for the security of Muslim world, especially Pakistan.

Shab-e-Barat provides an opportunity for the faithful to take full advantage of Allah’s blessings and pray for the betterment of their lives. This night is a source of spiritual peace and seeking Allah’s blessings.
