Another aid convoy attacked in Kurram

An aid convoy traveling from Thall to Kurram was attacked near the Ochit area of Lower Kurram on Monday, injuring five truck drivers, one of whom later succumbed to his injuries, police reported.
The 64-vehicle convoy, which was transporting food and essential supplies to Kurram district, came under fire from unidentified assailants at several locations, including Bagan, Ochit, Mandori, Dad Kamar, and Char Khel. As a safety measure, officials diverted the convoy back to Hangu following the assault.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Adviser to the KP Chief Minister on Information, condemned the attack and reiterated the government’s commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
During a cabinet meeting, security officials reviewed the deteriorating situation in Kurram and announced plans to establish 120 security posts along Kurram Road, along with accelerated efforts to dismantle illegal bunkers.
The KP government has been actively dispatching convoys to ensure a consistent flow of relief supplies amid ongoing tribal violence in the area.
With over 150 fatalities reported in Kurram since October and repeated attacks on convoys, authorities are ramping up measures—including enhanced security, helicopter services, and reconstruction initiatives—to stabilize the region.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and officials warned that those responsible for disrupting the ceasefire will face strict punitive action.
