Mustafa Amir murder case – Full story and latest updates
Karachi has been shaken by the brutal murder of 24-year-old BBA student Mustafa Amir, whose abduction and killing have revealed a harrowing sequence of events.
Mustafa went missing from Karachi’s Defence area on January 6, 2025. Five days later, a burnt body was found in a vehicle near the Hub checkpost in Balochistan. Initially unidentifiable, DNA testing later confirmed the remains belonged to Mustafa.
Investigations uncovered that Mustafa had a heated argument on New Year’s Eve with his friend, Armughan, over a girl named Marsha Shahid. On January 6, Armughan allegedly lured Mustafa to his home, where he tortured him with iron rods for three hours.
After rendering him unconscious, Armughan taped his mouth shut, locked him in his car’s trunk, and drove to Hub, where he set the vehicle on fire with Mustafa inside.

During a hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi, co-accused Shiraz confessed to his role in the crime. He detailed how, after the murder, he and Armughan walked for three hours before hiring a driver to return to Karachi.
Marsha Shahid, believed to be at the center of the dispute, left Pakistan on January 12. Authorities are now coordinating with Interpol to contact her, as Mustafa’s mother has accused Marsha of being complicit in the crime.
Following procedural lapses in the initial investigation, the Station House Officer (SHO) and Investigating Officer (IO) were suspended for negligence. To ensure justice, the case has been transferred to a specialized unit for a thorough and unbiased investigation.
This tragic case has shocked the nation, raising concerns about youth violence and the need for swift legal action against those responsible.
