Security forces eliminate 30 terrorists in South Waziristan IBO: ISPR

Security forces kill 13 terrorists in different KP operations: ISPR
Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan’s Sararogha area, killing at least 30 terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on February 17, 2025, following reports of terrorist presence. Security forces effectively engaged the militants, eliminating all hostile elements in the area.
A follow-up sanitisation operation is underway to clear any remaining threats.
This development comes amid a surge in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.
Just last week, an operation in North Waziristan resulted in the killing of six terrorists, but also claimed the lives of four Pakistan Army soldiers, including Lieutenant Muhammad Hassaan Arshaf.
Pakistan has been facing a resurgence of terrorist attacks, with a 42% increase in militant activities in January 2025, as per data from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
The think tank reported 74 attacks nationwide, causing 91 deaths and 117 injuries, with KP and Balochistan being the most affected regions.
Authorities remain committed to eliminating terrorism as security forces continue intensified counterterrorism operations across the country.
