Pakistan ready to receive $2 billion investment from Azerbaijan: PM
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that agreements with Azerbaijan have been finalized within a month and investment agreements worth $ 2 billion will be signed in April.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked President Ilham Aliyev for inviting him to visit Azerbaijan and making Islamabad a beautiful city on the lines of Baku.
He said that the people of both the countries would benefit from joint projects of mutual interest, the agreements agreed to be finalized within a month, while the agreements for investment of $ 2 billion would be signed in Islamabad in April.
The prime minister added that he supports Azerbaijan’s territorial sovereignty and security, while continuing to support Azerbaijan on the Karabakh issue.
On this occasion, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is welcome in Azerbaijan, promoting the partnership between the two countries, there are many opportunities to increase cooperation in economic and trade sectors.
Earlier, a ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and agreements was held between Pakistan and Azerbaijan in which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and ministers of both countries attended.
Senior officials of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Pakistan and Azerbaijan to amend the Framework Agreement for the purchase and sale of LNG, State Oil Company Azerbaijan and other MoUs.
