JIT summons PTI leadership today over negative propaganda on social media
The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted by the federal government has also issued summon notices to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar, former speaker Asad Qaiser and Salman Akram Raja along with top leadership and members of the social media team for investigation.
The JIT, headed by Inspector General (IG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, issued notices to Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja, Raof Hassan, Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Muhammad Khalid Khursheed Khan, Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, Hammad Azhar, Aoun Abbas, Aliya Hamza Malik, Muhammad Shahbaz Shabbir, Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shozab, Taimur Saleem Khan, Asad Qaiser and Shah Farman to investigate the negative propaganda on social media.
Sources said that the JIT has enough evidence to question these people and the JIT will investigate the anti-state propaganda against these people and all of them have been summoned before the JIT through notice today (March 7, 2025 at 12 noon).
They further said that the purpose of the JIT is to identify those involved in accordance with the law.
Earlier, the JIT had issued summoning notices to 10 members of the social media team, including some prominent PTI leaders, while tightening the noose against those spreading negative propaganda on social media.
