Property transfer fees increased – New rates announced March 2025
The transfer fees for both residential and commercial properties in Peshawar have been significantly increased following a recent notification by the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA).
The revised structure aims to boost revenue collection but is expected to place an additional financial burden on the public and impact the real estate market.
According to the notification, the transfer fees for various categories of properties have been doubled, marking a substantial hike.
Updated Transfer Fees for Residential and Commercial Properties
- Three-Marla Residential Plot – The transfer fee has surged to Rs. 22,500, up from the previous Rs. 11,250.
- Up to Seven-Marla Plots – The revised transfer fee now stands at Rs. 63,000, compared to the earlier Rs. 31,500.
- Up to Two-Kanal Plots – The new rate has been set at Rs. 312,000, doubling from Rs. 156,000.
- One-Kanal Commercial Plot – The fee has been raised to Rs. 1.2 million, up from Rs. 600,000.
- Shops – The transfer cost per square foot has increased to Rs. 600, up from Rs. 300.
The revised fee structure has sparked concerns among property owners, buyers, and real estate professionals, who believe the increase may lead to a slowdown in property transactions.
However, officials argue that the adjustment is necessary to enhance revenue generation and improve urban development projects in the city.
