Vehicles older than 15-year not to be refueled at petrol pumps

Petrol cannot be filled in a vehicle older than 15 years in the Indian capital New Delhi from April 1.
Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has said that the government will install devices at all petrol pumps that can identify vehicles older than 15 years.
In a bid to curb air pollution, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led New Delhi government has announced that vehicles older than 15 years will not be able to refuel from petrol pumps in the capital after March 31.
New Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) already have a policy that diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years are not allowed to ply on the roads.
A directive issued in 2021 further tightened the law, under which after January 1, 2022, the vehicles of violators were ordered to be confiscated and sent to the scrap house.
