NLC launches first containerized flagship naval service to Gulf countries

The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has launched the first containerized flagship naval service to Gulf countries.
The service will initially work with two ships.
A phased expansion has been planned to meet the expected trade needs in the future.
Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited (KGTL) organized a ceremony to mark the launch of the service.
Senior officials of NLC, representatives of shipping line and business community attended the ceremony.
The ship will operate on a 10-day round trip schedule through an 1120-foot equivalent container ship.
Uninterrupted movement of goods between Karachi, Jabal Ali (Dubai) and Dammam (Saudi Arabia) will be done through sea routes
This is the first service from Karachi to the Gulf by any Pakistani company and shipping line.
This service has the facility of slot payment collection in Pakistani rupees.
This facility will bring significant benefits to exporters and importers.
The service is part of the government’s policy of promoting trade with gulf countries, which are import and exporting companies from Pakistan, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
