Jaffar Express attack: Rescue operation enters final phase as all terrorists killed

11 March, 2025 23:50

Security forces have safely rescued 190 passengers from terrorists following the attack on Jaffar Express, security sources confirmed.

Earlier, the rescued individuals include 58 men, 31 women, and 15 children.

According to security officials, 30 terrorists have been eliminated so far in the ongoing operation while 17 injured individuals have been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

Security sources revealed that the terrorists are in contact with their foreign handlers via satellite phones. In response, security forces have tightened the siege around the militants, who have split into smaller groups, and a clearance operation is underway to neutralize all threats.

Efforts are ongoing to ensure the safe release of the remaining hostages, with security personnel intensifying operations against the terrorists.

According to security sources, the siege around the militants has been tightened, and the operation will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized.

According to initial reports, the attackers halted the train inside a tunnel and took passengers hostage, including women and children.

Security forces swiftly responded, surrounding the area and launching a clearance operation despite the region’s challenging terrain and remoteness.

Security officials revealed that the terrorists are in contact with their foreign facilitators.

The clearance operation will continue until the militants are neutralized and all passengers are rescued safely.

Authorities condemned the attack, stating that targeting innocent civilians proves the perpetrators have no connection with Islam, Pakistan, or Balochistan.

According to security sources, the terrorists have used women and children as human shields, making the operation more complex.

They added that suicide bombers are among terrorists. Terrorists are sitting right next to some innocent hostage passengers. Suicide bombers wearing terrorist suicide vests.

Terrorist suicide bombers are using innocent people as shields, the security sources added.

Security forces are acting extremely cautiously due to the presence of suicide bombers among the innocent hostages.

Due to the challenging terrain and the risk to civilians, the forces are proceeding with extreme caution. However, they remain determined to eliminate all attackers.

Meanwhile, sources claim that Indian and anti-Pakistan social media accounts have been unusually active since the attack, allegedly spreading misinformation and fake propaganda.

Reports indicate that old videos, AI-generated visuals, outdated images, and fabricated messages are being used to create panic.

The misinformation campaign is said to include support from social media accounts linked to terrorist groups, amplifying anti-Pakistan narratives. Additionally, Indian media has reportedly featured self-exiled Baloch leaders to mislead the public.

Authorities urge the public to rely only on credible sources for information and to avoid engaging with unverified social media content.

Security forces have reiterated their commitment to completing the operation and ensuring that all perpetrators are neutralized.

President, PM condemn attack

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Dhadar, Bolan Pass, and paid tribute to the security forces for their effective response.

President Zardari commended the bravery of security personnel for rescuing passengers and taking decisive action against terrorists.

He termed attacks on unarmed civilians and passengers as inhumane and deplorable, stating that those targeting innocent travelers go against the traditions of Balochistan.

Prime Minister also denounced the “cowardly” attack, reaffirming that security forces are dealing with terrorists with courage and professionalism.

He stated that the forces are pushing back the militants and will soon bring them to justice. The premier asserted that terrorists have no connection with Islam, Pakistan, or Balochistan and vowed to continue the fight against terrorism until its complete eradication.

He assured that every conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan would be thwarted, emphasizing that the nation stands united with security forces in the battle against terrorism.
