KP government announces early salary and pension disbursement before Eid 2025

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that it will release salaries and pensions to its employees on March 20, 2025, ensuring they receive their payments ahead of Eidul Fitr.

Initially scheduled for April 1, the salaries and pensions will now be disbursed on Thursday, March 20, providing financial relief to government employees before the festive occasion. This decision aligns with similar initiatives by the Punjab and Sindh governments, which have also announced early payments for their employees.

Notably, the Sindh government was the first to confirm that its employees would receive their March salaries on March 21, 2025, ahead of the usual payday.

Eid 2025 Holidays

Eidul Fitr 2025 is anticipated to fall on March 31, following a 29-day Ramadan, leading to an official three-day holiday from Monday to Wednesday. With the preceding weekend off, this would effectively create a five-day break for many workers.

However, if Ramadan extends to 30 days, the holidays could be prolonged, granting government employees a six-day break. The Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on March 30, with the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council set to confirm the official Eid date by the end of the month.
