Mercury to drop in Karachi

17 March, 2025 09:55

After week of scorching heat, Karachiites might get a bit of relief with a drop in temperature over the next three days, said the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the Met Office, the drop in temperature will occur due to shift in wind direction, leading to drier conditions beginning today.

Daytime temperatures in Karachi are expected to stay hot and dry, with the temperature potentially reaching between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius.

The PMD stated that the “temperature is 19 degrees Celsius, with partly cloudy skies and humidity at 48%.”

“Winds are coming from the northeast at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour,” it said in its daily forecast.

Apart from that, most parts of Pakistan experienced partly cloudy weather.

However, isolated areas in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Islamabad, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faced rain and thunderstorms.
