Eidul-Fitr: Pakistan Railways slashes train fares by 20pc

Pakistan Railways has announced a 20% fare reduction for passengers traveling during Eidul Fitr.

The discount will be applicable on all mail, express, and intercity trains for three days of Eid but will not extend to special Eid trains.

According to an official notification, the promotional fare applies to bookings for regular trains, and all booking offices have been directed to implement the discounted pricing.

The initiative aims to facilitate affordable travel for passengers during the holiday season.

In addition to the fare reduction, Pakistan Railways has released a special Eid train schedule, offering economy class, AC Business, and AC Standard coaches to accommodate varying passenger needs.

Meanwhile, the federal government has declared public holidays for Eidul Fitr 2025 from March 31 to April 2.

The Shawwal crescent is expected to be sighted on March 30, with Eid likely to fall on March 31, marking the end of Ramadan.
