Islamabad Police Announce Traffic Plan for Pakistan Day

Islamabad traffic police have issued a comprehensive route plan for heavy traffic in the federal capital in preparation for Pakistan Day celebrations on March 23, 2025.

According to the plan, the entry of all types of heavy traffic into Islamabad will be restricted from 12:00 PM on March 22 to 3:00 PM on March 23. Additionally, on March 23 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, all traffic movement on Srinagar Highway (Seventh Avenue to Koryanwala Chowk) will remain suspended.

To manage traffic congestion, vehicles heading toward Bahria Town should take Seventh Avenue, Pak-China Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Kashmir Chowk, and Club Road. Due to diversions, congestion is expected on Srinagar Highway and Expressway.

For heavy traffic traveling from Peshawar to Lahore, the Taxila Motorway and Tarnol Phatak should be used to reach Fateh Jang Motorway. Similarly, traffic from Lahore via GT Road to Islamabad and Rawalpindi should take Chak Beli Road and Chakri Motorway.

Travelers from Peshawar to Rawat via GT Road should use Taxila Motorway, Chakri, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat, while those traveling from Lahore to Peshawar via GT Road should opt for Rawat, Chak Beli Road, Chakri, and Taxila Motorway.

Meanwhile, the federal government has announced that the Pakistan Day Parade 2025 will be celebrated on a limited scale this year due to the holy month of Ramadan, but with full enthusiasm. The official parade will be held within the Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidential Palace), featuring contingents from the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force.

President Asif Ali Zardari will be the chief guest, with the armed forces presenting a salute in his honor. The Pakistan Air Force will perform a fly-past over the Presidential Palace, while the Pakistan Army’s Pipe and Percussion Band will showcase a musical performance. Foreign diplomats and distinguished guests have also been invited to attend the event.
