Islamabad schools eid holidays announced – Check dates here

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced Eid and Spring holidays for all government-run educational institutions in Islamabad.

According to the notification, schools will remain closed from March 31, 2025, to April 4, 2025. Classes will resume after the holidays on Monday, April 7, 2025.

This break allows students and staff to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the most important Islamic festivals, and also enjoy the seasonal spring break.

Expected Date of Eid-ul-Fitr 2025

Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan is expected to be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025, marking the end of Ramadan after 29 days of fasting. However, the final date will be confirmed by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

The committee will hold a meeting on the evening of March 30, 2025, in Islamabad. Scholars, officials, and meteorologists will review moon sighting reports from across the country during this meeting.

Scientific Moon Sighting Forecast

The Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has predicted that the Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on March 30, 2025. Based on astronomical calculations, this confirms a high possibility of Eid falling on March 31.

The holidays provide a much-needed break for students and teachers. It allows families to celebrate Eid together and take time to rest before the new academic term begins. With schools reopening on April 7, students will return refreshed and ready to continue their studies.
