President announces military awards for armed forces officers and personnel

President Asif Ali Zardari has announced military awards for armed forces officers and personnel.

According to ISPR, military awards have been announced for 764 soldiers and officers of Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy.

Two soldiers and officers have been awarded the Sitara-e-Bisalat while 227 Tamgha-e-Bisalat. 82 soldiers and officers have been honoured with distinguished certificates.

According to the ISPR, the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Cards have been announced for 185 officers and jawans.

Apart from this, 23 soldiers have been honoured with Hilal-i-Imtiaz Military and 112 Sitara-i-Imtiaz Military, while 133 jawans and officers have be awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Military.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Day is celebrated across the country today.

On the occasion of Pakistan Day, the day dawned with a gun salute in the federal capital while a grand ceremony of change of guards was also held at the tomb of poet Allama Iqbal.

In connection with the Pakistan Day, the main parade was held at President House, which was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, chiefs of the armed forces, foreign ambassadors and federal ministers.

The march past of army, navy and air force forces was demonstrated. The formation of the state-of-the-art J-19 C performed linear boom bursts and JF-7 Thunder, F-16 and Mirage aircraft also did flypast. Pakistan Air Force’s Sherdil Formation spread the colors of the national flag in the air while the Pipe and Selection Band of the Army School of Music spread great tunes in the air.

President Asif Ali Zardari, chief guest of the ceremony, prime minister, defense minister, chiefs of the armed forces, inspected the parade.
