New school timings announced in Punjab after Eid 2025 holidays

The Punjab Education Department has announced a new schedule for school timings that will come into effect after the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. According to the official notification, these updated timings will begin from April 7, 2025, and will continue until October 15.

New School Timings After Eid

For single-shift schools, classes will start at 8:00 am and end at 1:30 pm. On Fridays, school will end earlier, at 12:00 pm.

In double-shift schools, the first shift will run from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, and on Fridays, it will end at 12:00 pm. The second shift will begin at 1:00 pm and finish at 5:30 pm, while on Fridays, it will start later at 2:30 pm.

Punjab Eid Holiday for Schools

The Eid holidays for schools will start from March 28 and last until April 6 (Sunday). Schools will reopen on April 7, which will also mark the beginning of the new academic year.

The School Education Secretary confirmed this schedule, saying that the break will allow students to enjoy Eid with their families and return refreshed.

The results of the annual exams will be declared on April 4, providing clarity on students’ performance before the new session kicks off.

Colleges Holiday Schedule

The Punjab Higher Education Department has also released Eid holiday dates for colleges. As per their notice, all government and private colleges will remain closed from March 28 to April 2, 2025.

This break is expected to be a welcome pause for students and teachers before they resume academic activities.
