The latest horrifying crime resembled the infamous 2020 Lahore-Sialkot Motorway incident.
The incident took place in the remits of Sandal Bar police station in Faisalabad.
Three dacoits stopped the couple, identified as Adnan and his wife, on Motorway Bridge 62 and forced them into nearby fields on gunpoint. The man was tied up while his wife was subjected to gang rape. Later, the outlaws fled from the scene with the couple’s mobile phones and cash.
Adnan, the victim’s husband, filed a complaint with the Sandal Bar police station.
Taking notice of the incident, a team led by SP, DSP Circle, and SHOs arrested four suspects, who are currently being probed.
SP Iqbal Town Abid Zafar has assured that all perpetrators involved in the gang-rape would be arrested soon.
Back in September, 2020, the two men gang-raped a woman while she was waiting for help on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway in Lahore’s Gujjarpura.
The woman had parked her vehicle on the roadside as it ran out of fuel soon after crossing the toll plaza.
