Section 144 imposed in South Waziristan ahead of Eid

Local administration has imposed the Section 144 in the tribal district of South Waziristan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from today to April 5.

The measure has been taken to protect the lives and property of the people and maintain peace in the area.

Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Nasir Khan said that Section 144 has been put in place in the district from today to April 5 with the view to save the lives and property of the people and maintain peace.

He further said a notification has been issued in this connection. Under the law, a complete ban has been imposed on aerial firing, one-wheeling, tinted windows in vehicles, pillion riding and displaying weapons.

The deputy commissioner warned that action will be taken against those violating Section 144 under Section 188. He requested masses to cooperate with the administration and security agencies.
