Fitra, Fidya Amount for 2025 in Pakistan

Fitra, Fidya Amount for 2025 in Pakistan
As Ramadan continues, Muslims fulfill their religious duties by giving Fitrana and Fidya to support those in need. Fitrana, also known as Zakat al-Fitr, is a mandatory charity that must be paid before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer, ensuring that underprivileged individuals can partake in the festivities.
For 2025, Pakistan’s top Islamic authority has set the minimum Fitrana amount at Rs220 per person, based on the current wheat price. Those opting to donate using other food items can contribute Rs1,650 for dates, Rs2,500 for raisins, and Rs5,000 for dried apricots. Religious scholars emphasize timely payments so that those in need can benefit before Eid celebrations begin.
Fitrana Rates for 2025
Food Item | Amount (Per Person) |
---|---|
Wheat | Rs 220 |
Dates | Rs 1,650 |
Raisins | Rs 2,500 |
Dried Apricots | Rs 5,000 |
In addition to Fitrana, Fidya is given as compensation for individuals unable to observe fasting due to illness or other valid reasons. The Fidya amount depends on the food type selected, with Rs6,600 set for wheat and Rs150,000 for dried apricots for those who miss all fasts.
Religious scholars urge Muslims to pay Fitrana and Fidya in advance, ensuring that deserving individuals receive support in time for Eid celebrations.
