CTD operation foils major terrorist plot in Quetta

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition during an operation in the Sariab area.
According to Counter-Terrorism Department officials, the CTD conducted a major and successful operation in Quetta, foiling a possible terrorist plot and saving the city from major destruction.
However, the recovered items include improvised explosive devices (IEDs), automatic weapons, hand grenades, and various types of ammunition.
Moreover, the action was taken on the basis of intelligence leads indicating suspicious movements and storage of arms and ammunition, to which the prompt and professional response effectively prevented a devastating attack.
Furthermore, as per initial investigations, the terrorists were planning a major terrorist attack in the next 24 to 72 hours, no arrests were made during the operation, and raids are being conducted to arrest the terrorists.
Earlier, On April 4, 2025, security forces carried out an intelligence-driven operation in the Buleda area of Kech District Balochistan following reports of terrorist activity.
During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and after an intense fire exchange, two terrorists were sent to hell.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area against the law enforcement agencies as well as the innocent civilians.
Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
